Some 53 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Monday bringing the total cases in the country to 38,168.
A statement by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe indicated that the ministry tested 1,107 samples in the last 24 hours.
Kagwe indicated that 60 more people were discharged after making full recovery. Out of the 60, 36 were from the home-based programme while 24 were discharged from various hospitals across the country.
This brings the number of recoveries to 24,681.
Sadly, nine more people lost their lives bringing the COVID-19 death toll to 700.
