Tecra Muigai, daughter to Keroche Breweries proprietor Tabitha and Joseph Karanja died of injuries sustained on her left side of the brain.

Chief Government Pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor in his autopsy report said that the injuries on the deceased are in line with her reported fall from a flight of stairs at a luxurious holiday home in Lamu.

Dr Oduor conducted the autopsy at the Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday.

At the time of the incident, she was living with her boyfriend Omar Lali who has since been arrested as investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation continue.

Her parents together with their lawyer Senator James Orengo will now meet doctors who from the Nairobi Hospital who attended to her after she was airlifted from Lamu.

One of the things they will do is examine MRI scans taken at the hospital and conduct a blood and urine test to establish if she was under the influence of drugs such as alcohol.

Police in Lamu are holding Lali for 21 days pending completion of investigations into her case. The case is up for mention on May 26.

It is reported that at the time of the incident, neighbours found Tecra lying at the bottom of the stairs while Lali was deep asleep.

She was semi-conscious at the time and was rushed to a health centre in Lamu before a chopper airlifted her to Nairobi Hospital.

She will be buried at her parents’ farm in Naivasha in what will be a low-key ceremony due to coronavirus pandemic.

Before her death, she worked at Keroche Breweries as the Director of Strategy and Innovation
