A police officer based in Nairobi has surrendered after a two-day run following an incident where his lover fell from the balcony of their house on Ngumba Estate.

The police officer Kelvin Amwayo Yakhama surrendered on Sunday night.

He was escorted by his colleagues, who knew that he was a wanted man after the incident.

He, however, insisted that his lover Jackeline Muthoni jumped off the balcony out of rage, adding that he did not push her in any way.
The incident went down on June 3. It was reported at the Kasarani Police Station under OB/NO 03/03/07/2021.

He told investigators that he got into an altercation with Muthoni while in their apartment, but things got heated up, and she jumped off from the 4th floor.

Muthoni landed on the windscreen of a saloon car parked at the designated parking lot.

She was attended to by Fast responder health Services personnel before being rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Kevin fled from the scene and was nowhere to be seen for two days.

Scene of crime detectives processed the scene and recovered a notebook belonging to the police officer.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
