Grace Nyamohanga, alias ‘Nasra’, a Senior Sergeant at Lang’ata Womens Prison has been leading a racket that has so far swindled jobseekers over Sh200 Million, in 10 months.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in a statement Friday night.

DCI busted the racket Friday afternoon where they uncovered the syndicate behind the false promises to innocent and desperate job seekers.

Nyamohanga and his crew have been extorting millions of money from jobseekers on the promise of getting them jobs which never happens.

The prison warder promises to source jobs in parastatals and top government security agencies.

“The rogue prison warder operates a mafia organization that recruits helpless jobseekers, with the promise of job opportunities in top government parastatals & government security agencies including Kenya Defence Forces, National Intelligence Service & the National Police Service,” DCI stated.

The racket has been offering fake employment offer letters. When detectives pounced on her, they were shocked to find hundreds of academic certificates from jobseekers at the officer’s house.

“Among the dozens of fake offer letters in our possession that were seized from her house, the suspects have recruited jobseekers from across all levels of education and academic disciplines including graduates in Mathematics, Computer Science and Microbiology among others.”

One of the victims was a parent whose three children were jobless despite attaining a university education.

The woman from Kiambu paid a total of Ksh800,000 for her three children to get a job with the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) as promised.

However, the money went to the drain as no such thing happened.
“One such victim who was duped and fell for the trap hook, line and sinker, is a woman from Kiambu county who was swindled over Sh 800,000 with the promise that her three children would be offered job opportunities at the National Hospital Insurance Fund,” DCI said.

Police also found Nyamohanga in possession of different national identity cards, ATMs, and phones.
