Weeks after a widespread conversation on an incident where Eunice Wangari was thrown off the 12th floor of a building by his Facebook boyfriend, the suspect’s employer Mugenda Paul has spoken.

Moses Gatama is the suspect in the case He met Wangari, 20, on Facebook and went on to invite her for a date in September 2020.

They bought lunch and a 750 ml bottle of Captain Morgan which they emptied between afternoon to evening hours on the 12th floor of Ambank House.

When darkness set in, Gatama is alleged to have made advances at Wangari who declined and she asked to leave but Gatama insisted that they spend the night together.

Again, she declined and a fight ensued. What followed according to reports is Wangari being thrown off from the 12th floor through a window.

The case is before Nairobi Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu who has had testimony from the victim’s father about the sad incident that left her immobile and hospitalized for months.

On Wednesday, Mugenda in a long Facebook post said that he fired Gatama for flouting company guidelines that do not allow any alcoholic drinks on the premises.

However, he has remained in touch with Gatama who gave the other side of the story in what happened.

According to Mugenda, Gatama maintains innocence saying that it is Wangari who jumped off the window without his knowledge.

“He still maintained his innocence on the issue. His version still remains that they were drinking in the office, an argument arose and his girlfriend left hurriedly.

“He went after her in an attempt to cool her down and tell her its too late to leave in such a state without transport means and so on,” Mugenda wrote.

“Further, he claims to have known that that if she was flagged down around my office drunk, I’d have fired him anyway so he had convince her to cool down.

“So after going back to lock the office he found that the lady had jumped from the building, from 12th floor to 9th floor (pictures attached). He rushed to call for help and luckily the security guards were there to help.”

He says that when he contacted Wangari, she says she was drunk and that had argued with Gatama but does not remember if or not she was thrown off the window as has been alleged.

Wangari’s case has been a hot subject of debate that saw veteran radio personality Shaffie Weru fired from Homeboyz Radio together with Neville and DJ Joe Mfalme.

The three met the wrath of Kenyans for allegedly issuing statements seemingly glorying sexual violence on women based on Wangari’s predicaments
