Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika on Saturday tied the knot to her longtime lover businessman Sam Mburu in a lovely traditional ceremony.

The event was held at her family’s ranch in Marmanet.

Deputy President William Ruto was present as well as a host of other leaders among them Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi.

DP Ruto’s personal assistant Farouk Kibet, Nyeri Woman Rep Rahab Mukami, among other leaders were in attendance.

Mburu and Kihika met after she returned from the US where she had been living for 20 years.

When she came back, she went for Nakuru senatorial race which is where they met with Mburu who was a key point man in the TNA and URP campaigns.

Since then, their love blossomed.

Mburu who is a close ally of Ruto is reportedly said to be the force behind her colourful campaigns in the 2017 elections where she successfully clinched the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.

However, her relationship with Mburu has not been one without her challenges.

Mburu battled negative publicity when his now estranged wife Beatrice Wanjiku went public claiming that he had neglected her.

Wanjiku in court papers laid claim to his multi-billion wealth. She claimed that she played a huge role for Mburu who was born in Solai to become who he is right now.

Mburu runs several businesses among them a clearing and forwarding company in Mombasa that also has a branch in China.

He has also invested heavily in the real estate sector.

On the other hand, Susan comes from a wealthy family. His late father was among the richest politicians in the Kanu era.

Susan who is said to have been a favourite of his father controls most of the family’s wealth.
