11 COVID-19 deaths recorded as 73 new cases are confirmed

Kenya recorded 73 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday bringing the total cases in the country to 41,619. 

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe in a statement said that they tested 2,001 samples bringing the total samples tested so far to 593,199.

Out of the new cases confirmed on Monday, only three were foreigners.

Forty-three were male and 27 were female with the youngest case being17 years and the oldest was 77 years old.

Some 97 patients were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 31,097.

Sadly, 11 patients succumbed to the disease over the same period, bringing the total number of deaths to 777.

Nairobi led with 34 cases, Kilifi 18, Mombasa 11, Busia 4, Taita Taveta 2, Kirinyaga 1, Kiambu 1, Meru 1 and Uasin Gishu 1.
