148 COVID-19 patients recover as new cases push tally to 6,366

The number of coronavirus cases continues to increase with 176 new cases being confirmed on Tuesday raising the tally to 6,366.

Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman said that a total of 2,419 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Kenya has so far tested 169,836 samples since the first case was reported in mid-March.

The youngest of the new cases is aged three years, while the oldest is 78 years.

100 are male and 76 are female.

Nairobi has 99 cases, Mombasa 20, Kiambu 17, Migori 13, Uasin Gishu 10, Kajiado 4, Busia 4, Kilifi 3, Machakos 2, Narok 1, Kakamega 1 and Kisumu 1.

Dr Aman also said that 26 more patients have since been released raising the recoveries to 2,039.

Unfortunately, four more patients died bringing the total number of deaths to 148.
