Kenya recorded 154 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday raising the country’s total caseload to 94768.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that 3,262 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
He also announced that three more patients succumbed to COVID-19 raising the death toll to 1,647.
The new cases come as Kenyans continue pressuring the government to issue a statement on whether or not it will ban British flights to Kenya over the new coronavirus strain reported.
British Prime Minister Borris Johnson confirmed the presence of a much lethal strain of coronavirus which is behind a deadly spike of the disease in the last few weeks.
Already, Sudan has issued a travel ban effective Tuesday December 23 following confirmation of a new variant of the virus.
The ban will last two weeks.
A dozen other European countries have also banned flights from Britain until the end of December.
Among them are France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Canada, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria among others which have banned flights from Britain.
In the British flight bans, most of them last up to several weeks, for example, Russia which banned all flights from the UK to begin Monday midnight for a period of seven days.
