166 COVID-19 cases confirmed on Friday, 262 recoveries recorded

Another 166 COVID-19 cases were recorded on Friday bringing the total cases in the country to 98,859.

A total of 7,077 samples were tested in the last 24 hours bringing cumulative tests conducted so far to 1,114,198.

Out of the new cases, 146 were Kenyans while 20 were foreigners. 100 were male while 66 were female with the youngest being a one-year-old infant and the oldest aged 93 years.

Additionally, 262 patients recovered from the virus bringing the recoveries to 82,195.

Out of the new recoveries, 254 were from Home-bases Isolation and care programme and eight were from various hospitals in the country.

Unfortunately, three patients succumbed to the disease raising the death toll to 1,726.

Hitherto, there are 683 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,712 are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 

Twenty-nine patients are in the intensive care units (ICU), 14 of whom are on ventilatory support and 12 on supplemental oxygen. 3 are under observation.

Another 14 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 13 of them in the general wards. 1 patient is in the High Dependency Unit.

Nairobi led with 115 cases followed by Kiambu with 10, Kajiado 7, Mombasa 6, Nakuru 4, Busia 3, Machakos 3, Nyamira 3, Meru 2, Kisumu 2, Laikipia 2, Taita Taveta 2, Embu 1, Garissa 1, Kakamega 1, Kilifi 1, Kitui 1, Makueni 1 and Turkana 1.
