175 COVID-19 patients discharged as Kenya’s confirmed cases cross 3,000 mark

One hundred and seventy-five COVID-19 patients have been discharged in the last 24 hours after making full recovery, Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman announced on Wednesday.

The total number of recovered patients is 1,048.

Dr Aman also announced that Kenya recorded 105 more COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country is 3, 094.

2,273 samples were sample in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of tested samples to 102, 696.

In Wednesday’s cases, 96 are Kenyans and nine are foreigners. A 2-year-old is the youngest with coronavirus in the new cases while the oldest is 77 years old.

Nairobi has 43 cases, Busia 18 – all are truck drivers – , Mombasa 11, Turkana 7, Migori 6.

The increasing cases come as President Uhuru Kenyatta convened a meeting with all governors on Wednesday to discuss on the counties’ preparedness to deal with coronavirus.

It has emerged that there 3,700 isolation beds across all 47 counties against an alarming number of coronavirus cases being recorded daily.
