Some 178 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of cases to 34,493.
A total of 3,474 samples were tested over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests done to 459,562.
Of the new cases, 110 were male and 68 were female with the youngest being a three-year-old infant and the oldest 77 years.
In the same vein, 258 patients were discharged from hospital. 187 were from home-based care while the rest are from various hospitals bringing the total number of recoveries to 20,449.
Sadly, four more patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 581.
The new cases were recorded in the following areas: Nairobi 48, Kericho 24, Busia 22, Garissa 12, Kiambu 12, Kisii 10, Kisumu 9, Uasin Gishu 8, Nakuru 7, Embu 6, Bomet 4, Mombasa 3, Kitui 2, Machakos 2, Narok 2, Laikipia 1, Meru 1, Siaya 1, Isiolo 1, Makueni 1, Murang’a 1 and Nyeri 1.
