246 new COVID-19 cases confirmed, tally hits 32,803

A total of 246 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in Kenya on Tuesday bringing the total caseload to 32,803

Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman in his brief said that a total of 4,149 samples were tested. This brings the cumulative number of tested samples to 429,513.

Of the 246 new cases, 241 are Kenyans and 5 are foreigners. The youngest is two years old and the oldest is 77 years.

Nairobi and Kiambu had the highest number of infections in the last 24 hours wwith 75 and 28 cases respectively.

Others are Kisumu with 18 cases, Machakos (16) and Garissa with (13).

In the same vein, 160 patients were discharged. The total recoveries now are 19,055. Out of the new recoveries, 120 were from home-based care and 40 were from various hospitals across the country.

Sadly, five more patients succumbed to the virus bringing the death toll to 559.
