271 new COVID-19 cases recorded, 3 deaths reported

Kenya on Thursday recorded 271 new COVID-19 cases bringing the country’s total cases to 40,178.

Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman in a statement said that 5,034 samples were in the last 24 hours tested bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 574,712.

Out of the 271 new cases, 29 were foreigners. 177 were male and 94 were female.

The youngest case was a one-month-old infant, and the oldest was 83 years.

Further, 51 patients were discharged; 22 from the home-based care programme and 29 from hospitals around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 31,710.

Sadly, three patients succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of deaths to 751.
