571 new COVID-19 cases recorded as death toll rises to 842

Kenya on Tuesday recorded 571 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of cases in the country to 45,647.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe in a statement said that 3,963 samples were tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 627,781.

From 571 cases, 558 were Kenyans and 13 were foreigners. Out of this 361 were male and 210 were female.

The youngest was a one-year-old infant while the oldest was 90 years. 

On a bright note, 438 patients recovered in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of recoveries to 32,522.

Sadly, three people died bringing the number of fatalities so far to 842.

Uasin Gishu led with 116 cases, Nairobi 116, Mombasa 74, Kiambu 50, Laikipia 43, Kericho 41, Kisumu 23, Nakuru 21, Busia 16, Trans Nzoia 10, Kajiado 9, Nandi 8, Murang’a 5, Kilifi 5, Kirinyaga 5, West Pokot 4, Kakamega 4, Isiolo 3, Siaya 3, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Kisii 2, Embu 2, Vihiga 2, Bungoma 2, Kwale, Nyeri, Samburu, Machakos and Turkana had one case each.
