688 Kenyans test positive for coronavirus in 24 hours

Kenyan recorded 688 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the highest number ever.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe while speaking in Embu announced that the total number of cases is 12,750.

The new cases were from 4,522 samples that were tested.

The youngest is seven months old while the oldest is 95 years old.

Some other 457 people were discharged bringing the total of recovered patients to 4,440. Sadly, three more patients succumbed to the virus bringing the death toll to 225.

Kagwe also set the record straight saying that Cuban doctors working in Kenya are not getting more pay that the Kenyan doctors.

This follows the arrival of 20 more specialist Cuban doctors on Friday to help Kenya handle the pandemic which has entered its peak phase.
