Police in the city arrested eight teenagers over the weekend for engaging in indecent sexual activities in the city centre.
Officers from Central Police Station pounced on the teenagers-seven girls and one boy, at Michuki Park, near the Globe roundabout where some of them were semi-naked and others completely naked.
The rest, including two adults took off after realizing police were around.
Central Police Station OCPD Robinson Thuku said the two adults were taking explicit pictures of the teenagers and also recording videos.
“We received a tip off from a concerned citizen who informed us of a group of underage boys and girls and that what they were doing was bringing discomfort to observers in the public. Some of them were actually completely nude,” the OCPD told Nairobi News in an interview.
He said investigations into the matter yielded to the teenagers confessing that they were taking the explicit pictures for fun but would have posted them on a social media site by the name ‘Party Animal’.
“We are still investigating further on the matter to find out exactly how or where communication is given for such events. Most of those we managed to arrest did not know each other and said that a location was texted to them” added Thuku.
He urged parents to be more vigilant. The teenagers were released to their parents.
This comes just a few days after Kenyans; through #ifikiewazazi exposed the errant behavior among teenagers who posted explicit photos and videos on social media.
