96 new COVID-19 cases recorded, two deaths reported

Kenya on Tuesday recorded 96 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of cases to 36,301.

A total of 3,270 samples were tested, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi confirmed.

Four of the new cases are foreigners.

Seventy of the new cases were male and 26 were female while the youngest case was a five-year-old kid and the oldest was 81 years old.       

On a positive note 121 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, 97 of whom were from the home-based programme system while 24 were from various hospitals.

The total number of recoveries stand at 23,364. 

Sadly, two patients succumbed to the disease bringing the coronavirus death toll to 634.
