Nairobi based billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi formerly of Jubilee, brokered NASA deal where Raila Odinga was recently named the flag bearer, Sunday Nation reports.
Wanjigi switched camp after falling out with Jubilee administration not so many days after it took power.
The businessman who keeps a low public profile was highly instrumental in bringing together the then President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Party of National Alliance (TNA) and Deputy President William Ruto’s United Republican Party (URP) together to form Jubilee in the run up to 2013 general elections.

Wanjigi is said to have been spotted severally heading to Raila’s office and also Kalonzo’s office in what is believed to have been visits geared towards striking the deal
The business mogul was a close fried of slain Nairobi businessman Jacob Juma. Reports cite that he could have been bankrolling Juma who spoke against Jubilee administration.
He was at Uhuru Park on Thursday when NASA made its maiden announcement on who will be the flag bearer.
It has also been revealed that New York based law scholar Prof Makau Mutua took part in the negotiations.
Makau is said to have played a cardinal role in convincing Kalonzo Musyoka to accept to be Raila’s deputy in spite of the fact that it would be in disregard of an earlier MoU stating the he would only allow Raila to be the flag bearer for one term only.
