Former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri on Wednesday launched his new political vehicle, The Service Party (TSP).

Kiunjuri while speaking during the party’s launch in Riverside, Nairobi said that TSP is an outfit that will champion for the needs of Mt Kenya residents who have been sidelined in development.

He also said that TSP is the new kid on the block with the intent to revolutionize Kenya’s governance for the benefit of the people of Kenya.

“This is a vehicle which will champion for the agenda of Mt Kenya people,” he said.

“We have listened carefully to Kenyans and made the commitment to bring forth a platform that as our name suggests, will be unequivocal about service delivery to our people.”

He implored that TSP will reinvent Kenyan politics.

“TSP believed that Kenya will change dramatically over the next decade. We have the opportunity to pull together and ensure that those changes are fair, inclusive, sustainable and will positively impact our shared destiny,” Kiunjuri said.

TSP was registered by a group of youths under the chairmanship of Kariuki Munyoroku. An interim certificate has since been issued by the Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu.

TSP’s launch comes six months after Kiunjuri was unceremoniously sacked from the Cabinet by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

His sacking was associated with his links to Deputy President William Ruto whose allies in the Senate and National Assembly have been de-whipped.
