Al shabaab publicly executes two Kenyans in Somalia for spying for KDF

Two Kenyans accuse of spying for Somalia and Kenyan intelligence services were publicly executed on Monday by Al Shabaab militants in Somalia.

Shukri Ali, 22, who hails from Garissa, and Farah Godane from Lamu were executed in Fino Town, Lower Shabelle region.

The execution witnessed by locals was by a firing squad throat slitting and stoning. The outlawed terror group conducts its executions publicly to create fear among locals.

Executions of Kenyan fighters in Somalia have increased in the recent past with allegations they are moles being rife and more than 20 Kenyans have been executed.

They include Jared Mokaya Omambia, Faraj Abdulmajid, Ahmed Yusuf Hassan, Ahmed Nur Abdi Osoble, Abdullah Talal Musa, Hashim Othman Selali among many others.

A source in Somalia told the Star that after the executions, five Kenyans and two Tanzanians were tortured in the same camp over alleged connections to ISIS.

The group is reportedly said to have been found by the leader of the camp reading online content related to ISIS.

Al Shabaab pays allegiance to Al Qaeda as reaffirmed by ailing Al Shabaab leader Abu Ubeidha in an audio message he released on May 20.
