The Atheists Society of Kenya has come to the rescue of former Churchill Show comedian Stella Bunei alias Jemutai following their public tiff with baby daddy Professor Hamo.
Through the society’s chairman Harrison Mumia, all of Jemutai’s rent arrears will be settled.
“Following revelations that comedian Jemutai is having difficulties raising her two children and paying her rent, we have resolved as a society to offset her rent arrears,” a statement signed by Mumia read on Sunday.
“We are asking her to get in touch with the society at the earliest opportunity.”
Mumia said that Jemutai’s situation has been hardened by the Covid-19 pandemic that has destroyed the economy.
“Single moms in Kenya have been hit particularly hard by this pandemic. Kenyans on social media might joke about it, but for comedians who are single mothers like Jemutai, the burden of raising two children without any income is heavy,” the Atheists Society remarked.
Jemutai and Hamo were over the weekend a hot subject of debate. Jemutai accused the latter of negligence in taking care of their two children.
It all started in a leaked conversation with blogger Edgar Obare last week when she asked Jemutai about her relationship with Hamo.
Jemutai had reached out to Obare seeking to sell her Facebook page for Ksh870,000 to take care of her children and pay her bills.
From then, it was drama after drama as Jemutai and Hamo made damning claims against each other.
Hamo told off Jemutai and issued a statement that he has been taking care of his children, something that Jemutai discounted adding that Hamo only visited his kids twice last year when dead drunk.
He only brought with him two pieces of Oreo.
The online drama caught the eye is Bonfire Adventures CEO Simon Kabu who asked Jemutai for a sit-down. Kabu requested Jemutai to shelve her plan to sell her Facebook account.
He said they can work something out to get things working for her.
Churchill through his social media pages said that he has had a discussion with the two comedians and agreed on a way forward.
Jemutai is Hamo’s second wife. Hamo’s first wife Mama Melissa lives in Nakuru and they have three kids together.
