A lover to a Kenyan woman, Olga Ooro who went missing last week in the US has been arrested.

Ooro, 34, was reported missing on July 19 by her father but was last seen on Thursday, July 16 in the block of Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest.

Her boyfriend Darnell Sterling, 55, has since been arrested and will be charged with second-degree murder according to local police who say that Ooro’s disappearance was domestic in nature.

Ooro is yet to be found, nor her body.

Metropolitan DC Chief of Police said that Sterling has a history of abusing Ooro with a record of domestic assault on Ooro which was presented in court, Thursday, July 23.

Ooro left home and never returned leaving her son alone. It is after two days that Ooro’s father visited her home to pick up his grandchild that he discovered his daughter’s disappearance and reported it.

Her neighbours had also alerted the police on her disappearance.

According to a police report presented in court from CCTV footage in Ooro’s apartment, the suspect was seen in Ooro’s apartment with a cart which had an object that is equivalent to the size of a human body covered with a blanket.

However, Sterling dismissed that he is the man seen in the CCTV footage struggling with the cart.

He told detectives that on the fateful day, he was far away from Ooro’s apartment although tag readers clearly indicated that he was in DC with his car.

Ooro’s mother said her daughter would never leave her son unattended for two days.

“She would never leave her son like that,” Newsham said they told detectives.

She also said that she was not aware Sterling had been abusing her daughter.

A Ksh2.5 million ($25,000) reward has been offered to anyone who provides crucial investigation on the case which police say will remain active until Ooro’s body is found.
