A British woman is being held at the Nairobi Hospital over pending bill of sh3 million.

Tinu Amy Collins, 25, was taken to hospital for treatment after falling off balcony following a bitter disagreement with her Kenyan boyfriend, a musician Bradley Juma Ombomi alias Trap King Chrome.

Collins from Manchester suffered a fracture on her left things and right ankle, dislocated pelvis and other injuries.

However, she insists the fall was purely an accident and she was not pushed off as it has been said.

They were living in Nairobi’s posh Hurlingham Estate. At the time of the accident, she fell off from Fifth floor which housed their home.

In an interview with Daily Nation, it was revealed she was first released from hospital in July this year when the bill stood at sh2 million.

In her own words, she said she slipped and fell off.

“We had just had an exchange and he’d beat me up and pushed me and smashed me onto the floor. I was distressed and moved to the balcony to catch some air, I sat on the balcony and that is when I slipped and fell,” she said adding she had been drinking but was not intoxicated.

She said she fell and landed on her right side. “I fell and landed on my feet and fell on my right side. Apparently, Ombomi and some neighbours rushed down to see how I was and called an ambulance.”

She was immediately admitted to the ICU and was in a coma for one month.

She revealed that her relationship with the rapper has been violent since the day they landed in Kenya from London.

“The day after my arrival from Britain he struck me on the face and gave me a black eye. And he constantly beat me up several times after this which he drunk.”

After the incident, Ombomi was arrested and later released for lack of evidence.

Tinu is now appealing for medical aid from Kenyans. She is charged sh7, 000 everyday she stays at the Hospital.

Back at home, she was a bartender and a cleaner.

She said the British High Commission in Kenya has been of little help just like her ex-fiancee who no longer visits her in hospital.

“The Hospital was willing to come to an agreement with me if the British High Commission agreed to stand as guarantor that I would pay back the money once I was back at work back home. But the commission has said it is not their responsibility,” she added.

Tunu’s  mother is a single mum and she depends on state welfare, therefore, she cannot afford to offset the bill.

With her story hitting international media, family and friends have launched a Gofund account to take her back home (www.gofundme.com) .

The account has only raised 106 pounds while an Mpesa paybill number 504302 has only raised sh6, 000.
