Gekara Muoni, the personal assistant to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati has been fired.
Sources at the commission said the P.A was allegedly fired for leaking confidential information from Chebukati’s office.
This follows a pledge by Chebukati last week of investigating personnel at the commission behind leaking of two confidential memos to the media.
In the first instance, a 12-point memo addressed to CEO Ezra Chiloba was leaked.
It caused political upheaval within Jubilee and NASA factions.
This almost led to complete fallout between the commissioners and the secretariat prompting a retreat to be planned where their differences were ironed out.
And as late as last week, another memo addressed to the Secretariat was leaked.
Muoni has also been accused of violating terms of his contract with the poll agency by frantically trying to get mother nominated as a ward representative in Nyamira County.
