Swahili News Anchor at Citizen TV Salim Mdoe has shocked many after he decided to sell one of his kidneys to settle urgent financial issues.

He has put the cost at Sh2.5 million.

In an interview with Nairobi News on Friday, the celebrated Swahili anchor famed for his “tafakari ya babu segment every evening said he has received several calls in relation to selling one of his kidneys.

“Yes I am selling one of my kidneys for 2.5 million shillings and already a lot of people have called me to inquire more about it,” said Salim.

He had earlier told Pulse Magazine that his thought to sell his kidney was inspired by the fact that he will not bother people with his financial problems.

He also said that his doctor has ascertained he can live with one kidney.

“I have some pressing financial issues I want to offset and all I can think of right now is selling my kidney. And I need to do this urgently,” the anchor told Pulse Magazine.

“I know some people might wonder why I have taken this direction instead of using other means. But I do not really want to bother people. I can live with one kidney,” added he.
