CNN dismisses fake video attributed to the station allegedly showing Uhuru ahead of Raila

CNN has dismissed a fake news report attributed to the station allegedly showing the President Uhuru Kenyatta was ahead of Raila Odinga in an opinion poll.

The fake news video has been circulating on social media in the past week.

CNN through its official twitter handle @CNNPRUK confirmed the video was fake.

“This report on Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta is fake. CNN did not produce or broadcast this story.”

According to Nairobi News, the fake CNN report cuts from a Philippine CNN broadcast to a fake video using CNN’s logo.

In the fake video, the font used is completely different from the one used by the American based Cable and Satellite broadcaster.

Lately, there has been an upsurge of fake news as the country nears to the general elections.
