Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has rapped Raila Odinga and his NASA brigade for dragging some of his staff members to his political war.

Raila has called for prosecution of six Safaricom staff whom he accuses of colluding with IEBC and to rig August 8 polls.

But in a fiery response, Collymore told him that if anyone at the firm has to be prosecuted for abetting rigging, it should be him and not his staff.

“The DCI will conduct his investigations and if something turns out to be wrong, I’m the one who should be prosecuted, not my team. I will surrender and say prosecute me, don’t pick my innocent team,” said Collymore on Wednesday as the Star reports.

He warned that protracted political war targeting his team has put their security in danger.

Collymore said he has had to increase security of the six Safaricom staff members who are under NASA’s political radar.

“How would you feel if it was your brother, his wife and children who are exposed to this kind of risk because of a political agenda?” asked the CEO adding “I’m urging all political sides to stick to politics and leave companies and businesses out of this.”

DPP Keriako Tobiko has already written to DCI boss Ndegwa Muhoro to probe the six members and give a report within 21 days.

NASA wrote to the DPP on Monday and called for prosecution of the six.

The opposition said the six committed electoral offences.
