Court stops KQ workers plan to boycott Nairobi-New York inaugural flight

Two days to the inaugural direct flight from Nairobi to New York, Kenya Airways is still struggling in keeping their staff dedicated to the airline.

The Kenya Aviation workers union issued a directive last week asking their staff to boycott the long-awaited flight that will see Boeing 787 Dreamliner leaving for New York on Sunday.

The airline filed a petition under the Employment and Labour division asking the court to stop the union from suspending services.

The court on Friday ordered the Aviation workers union not to boycott the services, pending hearing and determination of the suit filed by KQ.

The aviation workers had on Monday threatened to strike over the airline’s failure to agree with its employees on special pay and working conditions for the long-haul flight.
