A Form Three student from Ainamoi Secondary School in Kericho is on the run after driving a 4-inch nail into the principal’s head.

The Wednesday incident left Geoffrey Rono, the school principal in deep pain.

Rono told the press that the student fled seconds after the incident. He was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The school head had lost a lot of blood by now as he bled profusely following the incident.

He had asked all students with outstanding fee balance to leave when the student struck him.

Rono was following an order issued by Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha that all parents clear their school fees.

Speaking on Tuesday at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Magoha third term feel balances must be cleared.

The CS during the launch of a modern laboratory said that most parents who have outstanding fee balances are capable of paying but just won’t.

“Our population is a very interesting one. The majority of people not paying fees can afford to pay. I am requesting parents, who are still refusing to pay, to pay the fees without further delays,” he said.

He urged school heads not to send home students whose parents lost jobs during the pandemic or are from humble backgrounds.
