The ex-MP is reportedly said to have held a gathering of 18 people from her Jesus is Alive Ministries at her house in Runda before she was taken ill.

Sources say she is currently on oxygen supply at the hospital.

Out of the 18 people who had attended the gathering in her house, eight of them tested positive for COVID-19

She was part of the 80 people reported to have contracted coronavirus on Thursday. Forty-one of them were from Nairobi.

Kibra had 13 people who got infected after attending a funeral in Siaya.

The total coronavirus caseload in Kenya is now at 1,109.

Among the containment measure put in place in controlling the spread of coronavirus, gatherings of more than 15 people were banned.

In these gatherings, a distance of at least 1.5 metres should be maintained all the time.

Since the first case was reported in Kenya on March 12, a number of people who have defied the government’s directive on social distancing have been arrested.
