Former Ebru TV anchor, Doreen Gatwiri has accused her husband who is a Parliamentarian of assault.

Gatwiri who is married to Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi claims her life is in danger after her husband allegedly attacked her on Monday night.

On the popular Kilimani Mums Facebook page she posted: “Guys my life is in danger. This evening at about assaulted me at our Karen home over a domestic quarrel and I sustained head injuries at the back of my ear resulted to my left ear going numb and serious headache and my right knee.”

She added that she reported the matter to Hardy Police Station and sought for treatment at Avenue Hospital and spent the night at a friend’s house in Kileleshwa.

Gatwiri also said that this was not the first time that she was assaulted but she now fears for her life because her husband has threatened her that she does not know who he is.

“I fear for my life because he always threatened me that I really don’t know who he is…one time he asked me to ask around [who he] is…. this assault is not the first or second time.

Gatwiri said she had enough of her husband’s mistreatment saying she summed up courage to go public because she is tired of trying to protect her image and her family.

“I did it to protect my home and his anger condition but enough is enough. Enough is enough. His anger issue is always getting out of hand making me a target,” she added.

She also said that before her assault on Monday night, the MP assaulted one of their employees, a chef at their Mwingi home.

“He also slapped our chef – one old Kangangi, who took the matter to the police.”

A police officer privy to the case said they are waiting for the former TV anchor to return her P3 form so that they can commence investigations.

“She reported the matter on Monday and was supposed to leave the hospital and come back to the station with her forms. We are waiting for to kick of the procedures,” the officer told the Star.

The MP is yet to respond to the allegations.
