A French national is in police custody after he was found in possession of fake documents at an apartment in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa suburb.

The 55-year-old French national was found with two identification documents one bearing the name Fredrick Seifried and the other reading Robert Holland.

Police according to Nairobi News had been called by neighbors to contain alleged disturbance at the apartment where the French national lived.

Upon conducting a further search in the Oyster Apartments, police found fake $100 dollar bills, 11 self-inking-stamps, red seals for Kenyan title deeds, seals for the United Nations, a French Passport without a Visa and Kenya Revenue Authority documents.

A probe has been opened on how he arrived in the country and the nature of his business for the time has been in Kenya.

He is expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are conducted.

His arrest comes as the State Department of Immigration started a 60-day crackdown on expatriates working in Kenya illegally.

On Tuesday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i said 13 foreigners have been nabbed with fake Kenyan work permits.
