Detectives from Nairobi are investigating an incident where unknown people hurled a grenade and fired shots at Kalonzo Musyoka’s Karen home on Tuesday night.

Nairobi DCI boss Ireri Kamwende together with bomb experts from the bomb detection unit is at the Wiper leader’s home to investigate the incident which happened around 2am.

Reports indicate that at the time of the incident, Kalonzo was home when the assailants arrived in a private car.

They drove past the main gate upon seeing private guards and later hurled the grenade before they shot inside the compound and sped off.

“They hurled a grenade and shot at the compound before driving off,” an officer told the Star.

No one was hurt in the incident though.

This happened hours after security detail for the NASA principal withdrawn moments before he was expected to take oath as the “People’s President” alongside Raila Odinga.

Earlier, Kalonzo had protested lack of security detail hitting out at the government for endangering their lives.

“Every security detail was taken away. But this is a very important struggle and we are still consulting. The media is seriously under attack and now the remaining security detail assigned to us has been taken away. These are matters we must tell our people,” he lamented.
