Radio personality, Moses Kanyira, formerly of Kameme FM has revealed he contemplated taking his own life after he was fired by Kameme FM recently.

The presenter in a disturbing Facebook post said that he is going through hard time and he would have already taken life were it for the grace of God.

“[I] am passing through the most trying period in my life. If it is not my God, this can amount to commit[ting] suicide,” read his post.

Kanyira endeared himself to many of listeners of Kameme FM due to his deep mastery of the Kikuyu language.

He coined deep vernacular words at the start and end of his news broadcast besides his popular zilizopendwa show that aired every Sunday afternoon.

He has worked at the station for the last seven years.

Some of his fans comforted him and wished him all the best as he picks up once again.

“May the peace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Put your hope in the Lord. He will guide you through na usijinyoge (don’t hang yourself). Kufutwa kazi si mwisho wa maisha (being sacked is not end of life). God is leading you to higher heights,” Saraha Njeri comforted him.

The presenter who vied for Tetu Parliamentary seat in August last year had his stay cut short at Kameme FM for reasons yet to be known.

Understandably, his lack of job has left him high in debts and deprived him of money to take care of a relative who is in constant need of treatment and medication.
