Inaugural USAfrica Golf Tournament exhibits a one African diaspora spirit in MA

The inaugural USAfrica Golf tournament was held on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018. It was a huge success as African diaspora golfers turned out for a pioneering morning of golf and fun in not so great weather at the beautifully conditioned Trull Brook golf course in Tewksbury MA. This tournament’s intention is meant to bring together African diaspora golfers for a day of fun & a sense of community. The tournament was organized by Pele Katangaza , an African diaspora member from Uganda who invited African golfers from all walks of life living in New England and the entire event truly embodied the One African Diaspora’s spirit.
Following the tournament, an awards ceremony took place over lunch at the clubhouse.
The tournament results were as below:
*Winning Low Net: Tony Ngarí*(?? ).
*Runner-up in the Low Net: Shadrack Kilemba* ( ??).
*3rd Low Net: Mike Sessanga* ( ??).
*Low Gross winners: Mike Sessanga* ( ??).
*Closest to the Pin Hole#6: Mike Sessanga ( ??) who was definitely on his game, mastered a shot to 7’8″ to take home that prize*.
*Longest Drive Hole #18: Martin Mùhía* ( ??)
A highlight of the day was on the 17th Hole with the championship going wire to wire between Shadrack Kilemba & Tony Ngarí where the former dropped a shot and the latter took the outright lead to hole#18 for the first time in the day.
The tournament’s President, Pele Katangaza (??) expressed sincere thanks to all the golfers for making this inaugural 1st USAfrica Annual Golf Tournament a huge success! He expressed that he’s already planning for the 2nd & 3rd Annual USAfrica Golf Tournaments & requested Africa diaspora golfers to plan on joining other African diaspora golfers for a day of fun in 2019. See you next year! *Fore*!
