Kenyan gospel musician Alex Apoko alias Ringtone has spoken for the first time about his undying love for South African-based Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan days after a botched Range Rover surprise.

Ringtone said he received a “special message” from God that Zari was the right woman for him despite the fact that they have never met or even talked.

“We have never met and I fell in love with her,” said Ringtone on Thursday Night Live show on KTN.

“When I heard she is coming to Kenya, I felt to make a statement. I had to buy a Range Rover, so I bought a Range Rover,” he added.

He also said the Range Rover which many say was rejected by Zari “did not cost a lot of money; it only cost Sh16 million”.

The musician who at one time harboured political ambitions said news that his Range Rover was rejected by Zari are unfounded because “he only heard of them on social media.”

“…that Range Rover, it is hers to reject or to refuse.”

Putting up a brave spirit, Ringtone said he is not giving up on Zari.

His love for Zari began way back, he said, and it grew stronger with the tribulations she was going through in her marriage with Tanzanian Bongo Superstar, Diamond.

Kenyans online trolled him after he showed up with a well-decorated black Range Rover in Westlands where Zari was having a breakfast interview with Classic 105 last week on Friday.
