Joho ready to work with Uhuru after truce with Raila

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has left many Kenyans in awe with his pledge to work with Jubilee administration which he has remained a big critic off since he was first elected in 2013.

His change of heart came after his party leader, Raila Odinga on Friday publicly declared to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Raila was in a meeting with the President before he addressed the press at the steps of Harambee House.

Joho in a tweet said he supports Raila’s call to work together for the sake of peace and unity of the country.

“IN SUPPORT OF STEPS TOWARDS A NEW BEGINNING: I wish to express my support for my party leader Rt.Hon @Railaodinga in his effort towards unity, peace and justice in Kenya. I pray that God gives him strength & wisdom to deliver a brighter future for all of us in this country,” read part of his tweet.

He made a passionate appeal to Jubilee politicians to join hands with their NASA counterparts in realizing the vision set by both Raila and Uhuru.

“I also wish to extend a hand of cooperation to our colleagues from the competing coalition. It is in the interest of every Kenyan that this Kenyan project succeeds. As we come with a clean heart and open hands, please remember that an open hand cannot shake a clenched fist,” he added.

Joho has had several run-ins with the Jubilee administration and in particular with the President in the past.

But with the zeal to make Kenya a better place by Uhuru and Raila, political rivals have set aside their differences and vowed to work together for the betterment of the country.
