The National Super Alliance is on a fresh drive to mobilize resources with barely 20 days before the repeat polls.

In the fresh drive, Kenyans living in the US have been roped in.

Raila Odinga’s campaign communications Advisor Salim Lone based in the US has urged Kenyans living there to support NASA mobilize resources.

Speaking during a dinner dance party in New Jersey, NASA supporters noted Raila needs to have a heavy backing of resources-wise if he has to compete with Jubilee which has state machinery at its disposal.

Dr George Omburo, a member of the team that organized the dinner party said as reported by Daily Nation: “While Jubilee coalition has government resources at its disposal, NASA which is a mass movement is relying on the goodwill of its supporters both at home and abroad.”

However, even as the NASA supporters I New Jersey made the commitment to support the opposition, Jubilee supporters living in Phoenix, Arizona condemned activities of their colleagues in the US supporting NASA.

They took issues with a protest held on Saturday outside UN headquarters in New York.

In the statement issued by Jubilee US coordinator, Engineer John Kamau, he said: “Nasa supporters who held demonstrations in New York and plan to hold such like demonstrations in Dallas, Texas next week are despicable and a disgrace.

“We are warning Nasa supporters to stop pushing Kenyans in the Diaspora to demonstrate against the government and to stop calling for the removal of IEBC. They should stop attempting to stop intimidating the IEBC with removal and issuing ambiguous, ever-changing demands and meddling with judicial officers.”

He added 85 percent of Kenyans living in the US supported Jubilee.

Eng Kamau warned that should things toughen up further, they will hold protests as well.

“The economy of Kenya is suffering and our country is becoming a laughing stock Just because one person and a small group of hardliners must have their way or no way. As Jubilee supporters we have now said enough is enough. Kenyans must be allowed to exercise their democratic freedom without this unnecessary intrigues.”

Still in matters Kenyan politics, a different group calling Kenyan-Americans for Peace based in the US has called for mass demos in Dallas, Texas this weekend.

The group in a statement noted current political ongoings in the Kenya have put democracy in a precarious position.

They also demanded that: “that the government stop using government resources for political purposes. We encourage Kenyans in the Diaspora to voice their opinion against injustice and brutality toward the Kenyan people who are exercising their constitutional rights.”
