Jubilee party prints foolproof ballots to curb rigging in primaries

By Jamhuri News Reporter

Jubilee Party has taken a proactive measure in curbing rigging in its primaries set to begin on April 21.

National Elections Board Chairman, Andrew Musangi on Wednesday told the press that the ballot papers are foolproof.

“If you can produce the Jubilee ballot paper, then you can also produce the Sh100 note,” said the Chairman.

The party’s Secretary-General Raphael Tuju weighed in on the rigging issue adding: “If you can rig the Jubilee process, please come to me and I’ll pay you money.”

The papers have five security features. They include different color codes for the different seats, unique serial numbers and a watermark known to five people only.

The two Jubilee leaders were addressing the press on changes they have made to the primaries slated to begin on Friday, April 21.

Musangi announced that they will hold the primaries for two days, April 21st and 25th, rescinding on an earlier decision where the party was to hold nominations on a single day across 33 counties.

The Board defended the decision to have two days for the primaries arguing that there was an addition of counties that will hold the primaries from 33 to 45.
