The discounts are valid for over 20 destinations. They can book their tickets on or before September 30 to enjoy the discount.

“Kenya Airways is pleased to extend an exclusive offer of 50% discount for the frontline health workers in Business and Economy Class fares,” a statement on KQ’s Website reads.

“We celebrate our medical heroes with an exclusive offer. Healthcare workers can book tickets by 30th Sep 20 & get up to 50% off in Business and Economy class to 20+ destinations. Visit your nearest KQ office or visit https://bit.ly/31BM4DC for more,” KQ said in a tweet Tuesday.

Those eligible are frontline health workers who include nurses, doctors and clinical researchers working directly with COVID-19 patients.

For any the persons in this category, they must produce their Health Worker ID during the purchase/booking of the ticket and also at check-in.

They are also allowed a minimum of up to two changes.

The discounted offers come days after KQ released its unaudited financial reports for the last six months where it made a Ksh14 billion loss.

This is almost double the loss made under a similar period in 2019 where it recorded Ksh8.5 billion loss. The dip was as a result of grounding operations for months due to coronavirus pandemic.

KQ suspended flights for three months with a few occasional chartered flights to evacuate Kenyans stuck in China, India and the UK.
