Kenya records 254 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, cases now at 5,206

There was a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus cases on Wednesday as 254 new patients tested positive raising the tally to 5,206.

The new cases came after 4, 859 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi said Kenya’s cumulative tests now stand at 151, 361.  

The youngest patient is four years old and the oldest is 92 years old.

In addition, 41 patients were discharged bringing the cumulative recoveries to 1,823.

Two more people lost their lives raising the number of deaths to 130.

Nairobi had 127 cases, Mombasa 23, Migori 29, Kajiado 12, Kiambu 12 and Busia 9.

Uasin Gishu for the second day recorded five cases, Murang’a 3, Machakos 2 while, Kilifi, Nakuru, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Isiolo, Kakamega and Kisii had one case each
