Kenya stares at 20,000 COVID-19 cases as cold weather persists

Kenya on Wednesday recorded 544 COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of recorded to 19,125.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that they tested 5,259 samples. Total samples tested so far are 289,759.

Some 113 patients were discharged from hospital bringing the total number of recovered cases to 8,021

However, 12 patients died bringing the death toll to 311.

Kagwe said the cold weather around the country has aggravated the spread of the disease.

Over the last month, daily cases have gone to as high as 796, sending panic among Kenyans.
