Kenya’s Elite Athlete from Massachusetts Mr. Festus Kasyoka Mbuva paid a visit to Abbey D’Agostino of Topsfield, MA, the American hero that helped Nikki Hamblin of New Zealand to her feet after they both collided and crashed on the ground during the preliminary round of 5000m. Abbey tore her ACL during the collision, but they were both able to finish the race.
Mr. Festus Mbuva told jamhuri News that Abbey is recovering well and that she has not lost her spirit.
The company that Festus works for Northeast Arc was equally excited to see their staff with Abbey and they shared the following message on their official Facebook page. ”Our own Festus Mbuva (himself an Elite Runner), paying a visit to Olympian Abbey D’Agostino after her return from Rio!”

Although Abbey D’Agostino could not compete for a medal at 2016 Rio Olympic Games after her knee injury, she didn’t return empty-handed. The International Fair Play Committee has this week honored D’Agostino with the Fair Play award, which recognizes those athletes who exemplify sportsmanship at the Olympic Games.
The Fair Play award is determined by the International Fair Play Committee and a jury that considers recommendations from social media, the media, other participating athletes and Olympic organizers.
