Kenyan man Eugene Asira gets standing ovation on The Voice Germany

Eugene Asira, a Kenyan based in Germany was the talk of Berlin following his stunning performance at The Voice Germany, a reality show.

Asira made entry and performed ‘Uliza Kiatu’ by Hart The Band marking a colourful seventh episode of The Voice Germany’s audition.

The judges were impressed by his powerful diction of Swahili lyrics in the song. It was in his second verse that the judges hit the turn button and they directly faced him, an indication that his performance was outstanding.

The Voice Germany is part of “The Voice” Franchise and based on the original “The Voice” Holland. The show is currently in its 10th season. 

Touched by how well Asira did the song that was an instant hit in Kenya when it was relased, Hart The Band sent out a tweet praising the German-based Kenyan.

“‘Uliza Kiatu’ Live on @TheVoiceGermany with @EugeneAsira & he got a 4 chair turn – UNBELIEVABLE. You made us really Proud – wishing you all the best  #KenyaToTheWorld,” the tweet read.

Hart The Band did ‘Uliza Kiatu’ in 2014. They credit the song to who they have become as well as building a he fan base.

Many Kenyans would relate to the song which speaks of the hardships of life especially when it comes to the dating scene with nothing but just a few shillings in your pocket.

The trio boy band has released other great hits, among them El-Shadai which is a still a big tune in the country enjoying over 3.5 million views on YouTube.
