Directorate of Criminal Investigation boss George Kinoti will be in the US for the next three weeks where he will be attending executive training by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Kinoti who left the country late last week will be at the National Executive Institute in the US for the highly-coveted training.
According to the Star, he is the only African detective who was called for the training together with four others from Canada and Australia.
Kinoti met the requirements of the training by having more than 500 sworn officers under him serving more than 250, 000 Kenyans.
15 top FBI officials will take the detectives through a rigorous strategic leadership development coupled with current affairs training for three weeks, with the first two going down in Washington while the last bit will be held in Glasgow.
“NEI consists of three one-week training sessions throughout the year. Two of the sessions are hosted by the FBI Academy; the third is typically conducted overseas in concert with our global partners,” NEI’s website states.
“One of the most valuable aspects of NEI is the range and diversity of the executives, who bring immensely different levels of experience and perspectives.”
For decades, NEI has provided the best of leadership and development training for FBI and other heads of law enforcement agencies in the US and abroad.
Data shows that over 1,000 law enforcement executives have graduated from the institute since 1976.
