A Turkish mogul, Osman Elsek has been arrested over the shooting of a teenager in Kilifi on Friday.

Police reports indicate that the tycoon shot the boy at a football match which had turned chaotic when two groups clashed.

A group of boys from Good News Rehabilitation Center were attending a football match when another lot of 10 boys from the village attacked them.

It is then that Elsek who happened to be passing by alighted from his car and shot in the air to disperse the boys. He shot again in the ground before turning the third shot to the boys and shot one of them.

“Then came a Turkish national namely Osman Elsek who alighted from his motor vehicle, drew his pistol, fired one shot in the air, another to the ground and finally shot Frank Omwenga a Kisii juvenile aged 15 years on the chest right below the left nipple,” a police report filed at Kijipwa Police Station under OB no 20/23/10/2020 reads in part, reports the Star.

After the incident, Elsek drove off without care. The boys quickly picked their injured colleague and took him to Elsek’s residence where they camped at the gate.

Now apprehensive, he succumbed to pressure and drove the boy to Mombasa Hospital where he was admitted in the ICU.

The boy is, however, in stable condition.

Elsek would later surrender himself at Kilifi Police Station. His Glock pistol was confiscated with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Police reports indicate that his civilian firearm license was also confiscated and locked up awaiting to be charged in court Monday.

Elsek, 55, was in January arraigned in court on account of defiling three girls in his posh Kikambala residence.
