Kenyans online have reacted to the nomination of Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa as the Devolution Principal Secretary.

Marwa has made a name in both security and political circles at the Coast where he was first deployed as Mombasa County Commissioner.

In his post, he ruffled feathers with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho over a litany of issues.

And as if this was not enough, he was promoted to the position of Coast Regional Coordinator, a position which saw his strained relationship with Joho take a further stretch.

After his nomination on Friday, a section of Kenyans shared their thoughts on the new job post for the CS.

One of them, Milan Ouma sarcastically said Marwa is not happy with his new job because he was not done with the fiery Mombasa Governor.

“Marwa isn’t happy with his new appointment, he wasn’t done dealing with Joho..#UhuruCabinet,” he tweeted.

“Lakini Joho watakua wanapigana na nani? Marwa arudishwe coast!#UhuruCabinet,” said Mt Kenya Mafia.

Others said that Joho is in a celebration mood now that his biggest “headache” is out of sight.

“Joho right now at the beach after he heard that Marwa is out of Msa #UhuruCabinet,” tweeted True Patriot.

Marwa has been quite vocal on the war against drugs in Coast and the issue has more than once driven him and Joho to the edge.
