High Court Judge Jessie Lessit has found Ruth Kamande, the woman who stabbed her boyfriend 22 times following a domestic fight guilty of murder.
The judge on Thursday ruled Kamande was guilty of killing her boyfriend Farid Mohammed.
The prosecution team according to the judge presented irrefutable evidence proving the Miss Langata 2016 pageant winner was guilty of murder.
“It is clear from the prosecution evidence that the stabs were not done at ago. They were done in intervals,” the judge said in the ruling according to the Star.
He further discredited Kamande’s defense testimony where she indicated that she stabbed Mohammed out of panic and that the knife she used fell on her boyfriend
Kamande in her testimony told the court that at the day of the incident, Mohammed had tried to rape her.
It was just days after she found an HIV Positive card bearing her boyfriend’s details hidden under the mattress.
She also said that Mohammed told her they would rather die than have his status exposed to family members.
However, Judge Lessit said the rape claim does not hold water because the doctor who examined Kamande did not prove the claims.
Kamande was arrested in 2015 after the incident and has been behind bars.
She will be sentenced on July 11.
