Matiang’i redeploys regional coordinators, county commissioners

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has reshuffled regional coordinators and county commissioners in a move he says was well consulted with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The CS said the changes are geared towards enhancing service delivery as well as providing elaborate security for Kenyans.

“Following close consultations with the president, and in the interest of enhancing service delivery and strengthening security, I have made the following deployments and transfers,” said the CS in a gazette notice dated February 2 according to the Star.

In the new changes, Nairobi County Commissioner Bernard Leparmarai has been deployed to be the Coast regional coordinator.

Central region coordinator Ann Ngetich has been redeployed to Western Kenya while former Nyanza regional coordinator Wilson Njenga has been moved to Central.

William Thuka is the new Nairobi regional coordinator.

These are the first major changes the CS has made since he actively took over the Interior docket.
